Military ceremony for Calgary soldier 70 years after his death
Seventy years after his death, a soldier who was wounded in the First World War has received a military graveside ceremony in Calgary. Cpl. Gawen Foster was wounded at the Battle of Vimy Ridge in 1917 but when he died in Portland in 1955 his remains were never claimed and were finally brought home last summer. (Nov. 9, 2025)
