Newsroom Ready: CBC targeting rural, Western Canadians in outreach to 'dissatisfied users'
Marie-Philippe Bouchard, head of CBC/Radio-Canada, says the public broadcaster's plan to target “dissatisfied” users will focus on rural areas and Western Canada. It released a five-year plan that aims to reach out to children and youth, newcomers and those who are unsatisfied with its services - or don't use them. Bouchard also says the public broadcaster is a way to guard against disinformation at a time when many people are turning to AI chatbots that may not be offering accurate information. (Oct. 15, 2025)
