Terry Beech, Transport Minister Marc Garneau's parliamentary secretary, says the government hopes the Senate continues debate on a bill that would ban oil tankers along parts of the B.C. coast. In response to a Conservative question, Beech also says the government will consider amendments reflecting the spirit of the legislation.
