Newsroom Ready: Indigenous leaders laud UNDRIP bill, see room for improvement
The leaders of three national organizations representing First Nations, Metis and Inuit in Canada welcomed a new government bill that would implement the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. National Chief Perry Bellegarde of the Assembly of First Nations also says he wants to see a shorter timeline for action.
