The interim federal environment commissioner says Transport Canada has fixed some things to improve the transport and storage of dangerous goods like oil and corrosive chemicals, but hasn’t done enough. Andrew Hayes issued his fall annual audits Tuesday, and said the department needs to do more to follow up when it finds violations of safety rules.
