Professional sports teams that want to play in Canadian cities amid the COVID-19 pandemic will need solid plans to catch and immediately control cases of the novel coronavirus, the country’s top public health doctor says. Dr. Theresa Tam says support for their plans from local health authorities is essential and they’ll need to honour restrictions to keep the public safe.
