Newsroom Ready: Foreign minister's mortgages a risk with China relations: Scheer
Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer says Foreign Affairs Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne's mortgages with a state-owned Chinese bank for properties in Britain give China improper leverage over Canada's foreign policy in a time of tension between the two countries. Champagne says the Bank of China was one of very few options for a mortgage when he was a temporary resident of London before entering politics and the arrangements are all publicly disclosed.
