Newsroom Ready: Canada buys options for fifth potential COVID-19 vaccine

Procurement Minister Anita Anand says the federal government has pre-bought 72 million doses of a potential COVID-19 vaccine from manufacturer Sanofi, adding it to candidates being researched by four other companies. Scientists expect a successful vaccine will likely take two doses per recipient to work and it's not yet clear which — if any — of the candidates will be successful.
