Clip: Jerry Dias says NAFTA dispute-resolution mechanism must be ‘fair’
The head of Canada’s biggest private-sector union says there should be no revised NAFTA deal without a “fair” mechanism in place to resolve disputes. Unifor national president Jerry Dias spoke in Washington on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, as talks on renegotiating the North American Free Trade Agreement continued.

SCRIPT: But ultimately there’s not going to be an agreement if disputes are going to be handled in American courts. Why would we do that? There has to be, when you have a trade agreement, regardless of what countries are involved, to resolve disputes. And I will argue having Col. Sanders take care of the chickens, in other words having all disputes handled in U.S. courts, doesn’t make any sense for Canadians.
