Newsroom Ready: Residents of Quebec's Ile Mercier staying put as floodwaters rise

Many residents of Quebec's Ile Mercier say they're staying in their homes, even as the only bridge linking them to the mainland has closed due to rising waters. The residents of the Montreal-area island say they're equipped with boats, pumps and generators, and are pulling together to help each other during the floods.
