Dizzying weather extremes a new fact of life for Canadians, experts say
Weather experts say the extreme ranges of temperatures we're seeing across the country this week have been predicted for years. While central parts of the country are under extreme cold warnings, cherry blossoms are blooming in Victoria and some East Coast cities are enjoying moderate temperatures. Frigid temperatures and wind are making it feel like anywhere from -30 to -50 in much of Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec. Arctic air that has crept down in a polar vortex has also brought frigid temperatures to many American Midwestern states.
