Newsroom Ready: Carney rides new light-rail train connecting Montreal to Deux-Montagnes
Prime Minister Mark Carney was joined by numerous leaders, including Montreal mayor Soraya Martinez Ferrada and Quebec Premier François Legault aboard the new Deux-Montagnes branch of the Réseau express métropolitain. The light-train network has connected downtown Montreal to its South Shore since 2023. A small crowd of unionized workers with the CSN, one of the province’s largest unions, gathered outside the Deux-Montagnes station. (Nov. 14, 2025)
