Outreach workers voice concern over Barrie encampment clearing
Barrie, Ont., Mayor Alex Nuttal declared a state of emergency last month to end homeless encampments over public safety concerns. In the wake of that move, outreach workers say clearing encampments would push homeless people into hiding, disconnecting them with the services and support available in the city. They say permanent housing is the only solution. (Oct. 3, 2025).
