Ontario is delaying its path to a balanced budget as lethargic economic growth drags the province further into red, with a $9.8 billion deficit projected for the coming fiscal year. New money in the budget includes $2 billion over three years for home and community care, along with $965 million for hospitals and a $200-million community, sports and recreation infrastructure fund.
