Emergency Preparedness Minister Harjit Sajjan says the federal government is studying options for a national disaster response team or agency to improve Canada's ability to react when natural disasters strike. Sajjan says there is no decision made yet but it will incorporate Canada's unique geography and multiple types of events including floods and wildfires. (Sept. 7, 2023)
